Default Proffesional Hard Drive Recovery

In hard drive recovery, the saying 'you get what you pay for ' does not always apply. A company with an impressive website quoting you $3, 500 for a hard drive recovery is not automatically better than a company that quotes you $1, 500.

Default Re: Proffesional Hard Drive Recovery

Yes, this is true. Conversley, a site may look great and spout low costs but that does not mean that they are a confident source to trust. You may want to look into how long they have actually been in business. You can go to godaddy or networksolutions under who is and see if they have only been aroud a couple of years. Most low end adds on google are spouting very low costs; however, these are usually prices for soft or logical crashes they are advertising to get drives in. Some have said they are trying to cater to the average consumer. The problem is it is impossible to perform all types of recovery at rock bottom prices. The sad fact is that one or two guys in a small office are cherry picking easy or soft crashes. In the best case scenario thats all they do. Many will try to learn how to do data recovery on your drive. What should you do?
Well, here is a trust factor indicator: Are they advertising really low prices? Yes, run. 2. Are there any fees that are hidden or not up front, including any cost for anything less than a good recovery of your data? Yes?, run. 3. Do they range quote you for $299.00 to $3000.00, Yes? Run.

Ideally, based on media size a flat rate recovery should be around $1000.00 to 1500.00 for an IDE 2.5 laptop or 3.5 hard drive. There should be no fees for anything less than a good recovery. If the drive was otherwise tampered with by the user or another hard drive recovery company a diagnostic fee may apply.
The costs above are for physical recovery ie.. clicking hard drives etc.

However, a good data recovery company will evaluate the drive and it may turn out that your drive appeared to be physically malfunctioning; however, it was only a few bad sectors causing your delema. Then the cost should be drasically lower.
