Have you ever wanted to make a backup of your entire system in Windows XP, but never wanted to pay for an expensive software package that would allow you to accomplish this task?

Default Re: How to Easily Backup Your Entire System in Windows XP

In my first attempt to make a back up (ASR) for my complete hard drive - (C 115GB TOTAL SIZE of which 17.9GB is used), I chose DVD drive D with a 4.7GB DVR+RW to put the .bkf file onto.
I Had assumed (INCORRECTLY) that when the disc was full I would be prompted to insert another dvd, but the prompt that appeared indicated that the task had to abandoned, but I was left with a .bkf file on the dvd of just a bit less than 4.7GB.
I note from the article that the .bkf file should be copied to the hard drive (C).
If I do this will I be able to copy the .bkf file to dvds, or will I have to get alternative storeage media large enough to accomodate my 17.9GB

I have read about "disc spaning" software.-- It seems unlikely that it could be used to put the .bkf file straight onto the dvds, but may be necessary to copy the .bkf file from the hard drive.
